Lord of Murder - Alaundo - 03-09-2025 ![]() Guidebook | Quest Board | Want Ads | Advertising Lord of Murder is a Mature D&D-based dark fantasy, set around the Bhaalspawn Crisis of the first two Baldur's Gate games and their respective expansions. Overview In the Time of Troubles, gods were cast from the heavens, scarring the Mortal Planes like comets. Their passage tore the land asunder. Gods and nations fell in but a night. Bhaal, Lord of Murder, foresaw His demise. Years before, He sowed His seed and scattered His essence, bidding His priests to slaughter His Spawn and reconstitute His form. Scores of children met the knife, but not all were sacrificed. Some were saved. Others, hidden. With every death, His Essence gathers. For every Gift His Child inherits, so do they inherit a new Urge. Dark. Violent. The few Uncorrupted fight the impulses, the Nightmares, and manipulations of their Father's ravening Ghost. Or else have inherited few Gifts at all. Most are ignorant of the Urges origins, but some know and devote themselves to slaughter in His name. Others wish to usurp divinity for themselves. A rare few would bring order to the chaos and prevent their siblings from attaining Godhood--or worse--reconstituting the Lord of Murder. The Spawn are not alone in their interest. Some of Bhaal's faithful seek to fulfill their dead God's command. Learned minds know Alaundo's Prophecy and plot to steal the Children's birthright, or end the reign of terror. In Heavens and Hells alike, Gods and Devils scheme, imparting favors on their agents to work their will. Welcome, Soul, to a dark night in a gloomy season. Where all will learn His name. Warning This is a dark fantasy, with all that entails. More specifically: 1) Your character is quite mortal. If a high probability of death doesn't deter you, welcome aboard. |
